- 411 service sites hosted those members and volunteers, including schools, food banks, youth centers, state parks, local government, and other nonprofit and faith-based organizations
- $16 million was invested in AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors programs in 2022, including almost $9 million in federal funds
- Since 1994, more than 21,000 Virginians have served in AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors, contributing more than 34 million hours of service in Virginia
- $80.9 million in Segal Education Awards have been earned by AmeriCorps members since 1994 to use on qualified education expenses, like higher education and vocational training
AmeriCorps funding in Virginia is provided through federal grants administered by Serve Virginia, supporting a diverse range of service projects to improve communities across the state. This financial support enables AmeriCorps members to tackle pressing issues while gaining valuable skills, experience, and educational benefits through their service.
AmeriCorps State Programs
Eligible organizations, including faith-based and community organizations, higher education institutions, and public agencies, receive grant awards to support their AmeriCorps programs and members in meeting critical community needs.
