Virginia Service Foundation
Serve Virginia is supported by the Virginia Service Foundation, an independent 501(c)3 organization, which works intimately with the Virginia Volunteer Center Network and other partner organizations, and is guided by the Governor’s Advisory Board on Service and Volunteerism.
About the Foundation
We believe in the power of volunteers.
The Virginia Service Foundation supports the activities of the Governor’s Advisory Board on Service and Volunteerism. The purpose of the Virginia Service Foundation is to promote volunteer involvement, civic engagement, and citizen participation in community and national service programs to address needs across the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Virginia Service Foundation was established in 2007 and continues to be an active fundraising organization.
What We Fund
The Virginia Service Foundation supports several initiatives each year which all support the goals of the Governor’s Advisory Board on Service and Volunteerism.

Virginia Volunteerism Summit
A virtual annual conference featuring a diverse array of workshops, networking events and opportunities of service.

Volunteerism & Service Awards
Recognized annually through the Governor’s Volunteerism and Service Awards and the National Service Awards programs.

National Days of Service Mini Grants
Offering mini-grants throughout the year to support volunteer and service events or projects designed to engage communities.
Policies to Incentivize National Service
Over 3,000 AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers served Virginians over the last year, making a tangible impact on education, environmental stewardship, public safety, health, and economic opportunity. AmeriCorps programs operated locally in communities offer Virginians of all ages the opportunity to serve, address pressing challenges, and grow through civic engagement.
The Virginia Service Foundation is working to advance Virginia’s workforce by supporting specific policy changes that present a clear roadmap for increasing participation in national service programs in Virginia.

We offer sponsorship opportunities for organizations that would like to join with us in a shared mission to support volunteerism in Virginia.
