Serve Virginia Volunteer Hub

The new Serve Virginia Volunteer Hub is a statewide, online hub connecting Virginians to volunteer and service opportunities across the Commonwealth.

What’s on the Hub?

In partnership with VDSS, Serve Virginia developed the hub as a tool to create a single point-of-entry for individuals looking to volunteer. The hub also provides volunteer management resources to communities without volunteer centers.

Note*
As we continue to build out the Serve Virginia Hub and expand our network of partners, there will be more volunteer opportunties listed in localities across the Commonwealth.

The Hub can…

  • Track volunteer hours across multiple organizations through one secure location.
  • Search volunteer opportunities by date and location.

  • Allow community agencies the ability to verify volunteer hours within the system.
  • Connect users to a local volunteer center.
  • Find volunteer opportunities that fit your specific needs.
  • Set-up notifications and alerts.
  • Help you learn about volunteer events, news and updates.

Volunteers can create a free account on the Serve Virginia Volunteer Hub to record hours committed to opportunities found on the Hub, as well as other independent volunteering.

Volunteer hours are able to be verified to ensure compliance or meet requirements. Volunteers can also download their “volunteer resume” to submit their volunteer hours to other organizations.

Register your organization on the Hub!

For organizations located in an area without a local volunteer center, you can list your service opportunity directly to the Hub. If you already list volunteer opportunities with a local volunteer center, they will be integrated this summer to appear on both your local volunteer center site and the statewide volunteer hub. You do not need to complete a second registration with the Serve Virginia Volunteer Hub directly.

What is a Volunteer Center?

Volunteer Centers provide individuals seeking volunteer opportunities and community organizations recruiting volunteers with a place to connect.

In aggregate, the volunteer centers serve over 85,000 volunteers and 2,600 organizations. This represents a large percentage of the infrastructure to support volunteerism.

Nonprofit, government, and other not for profit organizations can list volunteer opportunities for individuals or teams to respond to.

These opportunities are filterable by issue area, volunteer experience/background, location, etc.
