We are thrilled to announce 18 organizations across Virginia that have been selected to receive 9/11 Day of Service Mini Grants through the Virginia Service Foundation (VSF). The Foundation’s biannual National Days of Service Mini Grants support service projects that engage individual and group volunteers in opportunities to serve others in honor of 9/11 Day of Remembrance in September and Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January.
VSF received 71 applications from across Virginia for a 9/11 Mini Grant, marking a significant increase in interest and commitment to service. These selected organizations will receive Mini Grants to support their communities:
“The Virginia Service Foundation is honored to join the national effort to transform the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack into the largest day of service across America. We must never forget. The VSF’s National Days of Service Mini Grants are one way that we can support local organizations working to engage volunteers and honor all 9/11 families and first responders,” said Julie Strandlie, Chair of the Virginia Service Foundation.
