The summer months go by quickly, so begin planning now for the 9/11 Day of Service. All types of service are encouraged, particularly those projects that connect participants to opportunities to serve throughout the year, have a lasting impact, or build capacity of organizations to meet community needs. Projects can focus on disaster services, economic opportunity, education, environmental stewardship, health, and (especially) supporting veterans and military families. Mini-Grants are available from the Virginia Service Foundation to fund service projects for 9/11 day. More information.
