The 2026 application for the 9/11 National Day of Service Mini Grants are now open!
The application closes on July 27 at 11:59 p.m. ET!
These mini grants are intended to support service projects that engage individual and group volunteers in opportunities to serve others in September 2026.
Across the Commonwealth, nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, and others plan National Day of Service projects honoring 9/11 Remembrance Day in their communities. Serve Virginia and the Virginia Service Foundation support these efforts through mini grant funding opportunities as well as promotional assistance to engage community members in volunteerism.
Organizations can apply for up to $250 of mini grant funding from the Virginia Service Foundation. Applicants must represent public or private nonprofit organizations that serve the Commonwealth of Virginia, including faith-based and other community organizations, public or private schools, institutions of higher education, and government entities. Funding will be provided on a reimbursement basis to selected organizations and proof of project completion and volunteer engagement is required.
Deadline to apply: July 27, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. ET
