Virginia Service Foundation invests in organizations giving back across the Commonwealth

RICHMOND, VA— The Virginia Service Foundation has selected 22 organizations across Virginia to receive 9/11 Day of Service Mini Grants to support local service and community engagement projects. Each year, the Foundation provides National Days of Service Mini Grants to support service projects that engage individual and group volunteers in opportunities to serve others in honor of 9/11 Day of Remembrance in September and Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January.

The following organizations will receive Mini Grants to support projects in their communities:

• VT Engage: The Center for Leadership and Service Learning (Blacksburg)

• Omicron Xi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated (Williamsburg)
• The Haven Shelter & Services, Inc. (Warsaw)
• The Salvation Army (Hampton Roads)
• Bay Aging (Urbanna)
• College Evangelical Lutheran Church (Salem)
• The Isle of Wight Community Food Pantry (Windsor)
• Town of Kilmarnock (Kilmarnock)
• John Dos Passos Institute (Westmoreland County)
• Lancaster Historical Society (Lancaster)
• Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock (White Stone)
• Grace Church Yard Sale (Kilmarnock)
• Foundation for Historic Christ Church (Weems)
• Healthy Harvest Food Bank, Inc. (Warsaw)
• Southern Area Agency on Aging (Martinsville)
• Bay Triangle Trail (Irvington)
• Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck (Kilmarnock)
• Northumberland Association For Progressive Stewardship (Heathsville)
