The Virginia Housing Alliance is looking for a number of individuals to serve in AmeriCorps VISTA positions across the Commonwealth. AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) members bring their passion and perseverance where the need is greatest: to organizations that help eradicate poverty. The most pressing challenges we face as a nation require the most courageous and creative people to address them. An AmeriCorps VISTA member serves as a catalyst for change, living and working alongside community members to advance local solutions. The following positions are available
- VHA VISTA Leader
The Virginia Housing Alliance is looking for a VISTA Leader to begin their term in August 2017 in Richmond. In order to qualify to be a VISTA Leader, the candidate must have already successfully completed an AmeriCorps OR Peace Corps term of service. The Housing Alliance is looking for great leaders who are able to fill the main roles: facilitator, ambassador, mentor, recruiter, resource generator, and liaison.
- Homelessness VISTA
This position will build capacity to end homelessness for the Crater Area working with St. Joseph's Villa.
- Housing VISTAs
These positions will build capacity to expand affordable housing opportunity across Virginia in the following areas:
- Alexandria Housing Development Corporation, Alexandria
- Partnership for Housing Affordability, Richmond
- HOPE Inc, Wytheville
