AmeriCorps NCCC’s application season for the Fall 2018 (August 21–October 15) is open! Concept forms are due May 1! Every organization has a list of things they wish they could accomplish if only they had the extra dedicated manpower. Good news . . . NCCC might be able to help! Each year, AmeriCorps NCCC engages its teams in communities across the United States. Service projects, which typically last from three to eight weeks, address critical needs related to natural and other disasters, infrastructure improvement, environmental stewardship and conservation, energy conservation, and urban and rural development. Members have mentored students, constructed and rehabbed low-income housing, responded to natural disasters, cleaned up streams and watersheds, helped communities develop emergency plans, and addressed countless other local needs. This class marks the 24th year AmeriCorps NCCC has been strengthening communities and developing leaders nationwide.
The Southern Region Campus of AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) is currently inviting potential Project Sponsors in Virginia to apply for teams of developing leaders. The Southern Region Campus assigns teams to service projects lasting 3-8 weeks, to help communities meet their most compelling needs, and to develop the knowledge and leadership of our AmeriCorps members.
If your organization, or another organization you know, is interested in hosting an NCCC team to support needs in your community during the Fall (Round 1) of 2018, please submit a Project Concept form no later than May 1, 2018. This is the first step in the application process. The project dates (when teams area available) for Round 1 are August 21 through October 15, 2018. If you are interested in other dates for later in 2018 or early 2019, please see the RFP for those dates and deadlines.
Important: You can apply for as little as three weeks, or for the entire project round. Your organizations identifies the need, submits the Concept Form, and NCCC will do their best to support. For more information about AmeriCorps NCCC, please call or email Stephanie Chan, 601-630-4066, SGittinger@cns.gov.
