Every student deserves the opportunity to acquire the skills they need to be successful in life - skills like empathy, creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. Unfortunately, there is a gap - especially in underserved communities - between what youth are learning and what skills are needed to thrive. That's why this school year, YSA is partnering with K-12 schools that are creating a culture of service where students develop and use 21st Century skills to address the world's challenges.
If you're an educator that believes in the power of these opportunities, take the lead in signing up your school. Participating schools will coordinate school-wide activities on days of service like 9/11 National Day of Service & Remembrance, MLK Day of Service (January 15, 2018), and Global Youth Service Day (April 20-22, 2018). Schools will receive exclusive access to grant opportunities, resources, technical assistance, networking opportunities, and recognition provided by YSA.
Whether you're teaching about the biggest social issues raised by current events or the biggest ongoing challenges our world faces, students want to learn three things: what's happening, why, and what can we do about it?
