The Virginia Service Foundation honored the 20th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, by awarding 20 9/11 Day of Service Mini Grants to organizations all around the Commonwealth. Funds were awarded to support community service projects honoring the 9/11 Day of Service to pay for supplies and other elements. The following organizations received 9/11 Day of Service Mini Grant funding:
The Virginia Service Foundation is a nonprofit established, organized and operated to support and assist the Virginia Governor’s Advisory Board on Service and Volunteerism. The Foundation raises funds to support the Advisory Board in accomplishing its goals of supporting community-based initiatives to build stronger communities and enhance existing relationships that address local educational, community development, economic, health, environmental and other social/cultural needs by identifying and involving diverse community service volunteers.
