Recently, CASA's AmeriCorps service members assisted community members during the Spring Festival in Woodbridge, Virginia, which attracted over 600 guests.
The team led a number of engaging activities throughout the day and facilitated financial literacy interventions and games, emphasizing the importance of credit scores and bank accounts as part of the knowledge needed for financial stability. CASA's education team also had their Mi Espacio students on-site, who learned about volunteerism and its positive impact.
One highlight of the Festival was the Gallery Walk, showcasing individuals who achieved citizenship with the invaluable support of AmeriCorps members.
These members assisted people with completing applications, tutoring, and mentoring them in civic history, providing unwavering service until the finish line.
The Spring Festival served as a vibrant platform for CASA's AmeriCorps service members to actively engage with the community, empowering individuals through education, mentorship, and fostering a spirit of civic engagement.
