Joy Wade has recently joined the Office on Volunteerism and Community Services as one of the new AmeriCorps Program Senior Consultants. Joy has more than 12 years of experience within the field of Human Services/Child Protective Services (CPS), with a degree in sociology, advanced training in high risk child abuse cases, and VCA certification. Most recently, she worked for the Division of Family Sevice, CPS Unit as the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Grant Manager/CPS Treatment Specialist. Providing oversight to federal and state funded VOCA victim assistance programs, Joy also managed the multi-million dollar federal VOCA grant program for victim assistance and participated in the development of other federal and state programs.
She previously worked within a leadership capacity as a Senior CPS Investigator and Forensic Interviewer at the Local Department of Social Services. Joy has been actively involved in and a member of the following community partnerships: CPS Child Fatality Review Team, Mental Health Advisory Board, Substance Exposed Research Committee, Head Start Policy Council Member, and special projects associated with the VDSS Division of Procurement.
