The Corporation for National and Community Service suggest the following great strategies to get your post-AmeriCorps career off and running:
1) Find the right grad school. Register for the AmeriCorps Alums Virtual Grad School Fair on August 11 from 1-4 p.m. ET to chat with graduate school recruiters who help make enrollment decisions. Whether you’re interested in education, public policy, or international service, the fair will have a variety of programs for you to browse. Some schools will even match your Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, waive the application fee, or provide special service scholarships for alums like you. Visit the event homepage to find out more and share the grad fair with your AmeriCorps friends on Facebook and Twitter.
2) Be the Author of Your Own Career Development. CNCS is pleased to work with AmeriCorps Alums and national service grantees to connect you with ongoing opportunities. Here is an opportunity to share your feedback in this 2016 Workforce Survey from AmeriCorps Alums. Your input will help better support your professional development. The survey is open for a limited time so share your replies today. AmeriCorps Alums will enter individuals who respond to the survey to win one of two prizes (an hour of career coaching or a ticket to the 2017 Points of Light Conference on Volunteering and Service). Click here to take the survey, and click here to tweet the survey out to your network.
P.S. Watch for more information on how to engage in the celebration on October 7, 2016, of AmeriCorps enrolling its one millionth member.
