Don't miss this great opportunity to serve Richmond Public Schools and make an impact on helping our community's kids. Richmond Public Schools' Homeless Education Program is hosting a Back to School Event (download flyer) at the Richmond YMCA on Thursday, September 1st and is need of volunteers to help set up and staff this wonderful effort. This event will host Richmond area students to receive clothing and school supply donations.
The Back to School Event is also accepting donations of school supplies and clothing. Your donations can be dropped off in boxes located on each of the DSS Home Office floors at 801 E. Main Street by August 30th. (See list of items below.)
Project Description:
Volunteers will help set up the event on Wednesday, August 31st and staff the day-of-event activities on Thursday, September 1st.
Dates/Times:
Wednesday, August 31, 2016 One Shift Available (10 slots) 12pm-3pm
Thursday, September 1, 2016 Two Shifts 9am-12:30pm (15 slots) 12:30pm-4pm (15 slots)

Donations Needed:
Backpacks
Snack packs' (granola bars, fruit snacks, apple sauce, teddy Graham's).
Toothpaste/Floss/Toothbrushes
Personal Hygiene Items (deodorant, soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc.)

Remember to get authorization from your supervisor to be out of the office during this time prior to signing up for this project.
