The Office on Volunteerism and Community Services is excited to introduce Roxanne Saunders as Fiscal Officer with AmeriCorps. Previously, Roxanne served as Program Fiscal Monitor of the Office of Newcomer Services Unit for five years. Roxanne also worked with the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) for more than 15 years. During her tenure at DMAS, she held several positions, most recently serving as an Appeals Hearing Officer for client appeals. Roxanne has just received her service award for 25 years of continuous service to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Roxanne received a Masters in Business Administration from Colorado Technical University.
She is also the proud mother of two wonderful daughters and is no stranger to volunteering. She serves as a Girl Scout Troop Leader along with volunteering at church. A mother to an autistic daughter, Roxanne is very involved with events and projects pertaining to autism awareness. Her youngest daughter, who is a little person, has also inspired her to serve with the Little People of America (LPA) organization. Welcome Roxanne!
