Child Health Investment Partnership (CHIP) of Roanoke Valley is a trusted early childhood home visiting program in Southwest Virginia. Since 1988, CHIP has empowered over 28,000 children and their families, providing the support needed for a healthy, successful start. They partner with pregnant moms, children from birth to first grade, and their caregivers, pairing them with Community Health Nurses and Family Case Managers who offer guidance on accessing medical services, managing chronic conditions, and promoting healthy development.
CHIP’s mission wouldn’t be possible without the support of their incredible volunteers. Whether it’s helping with events, assisting with administrative tasks, or supporting outreach efforts, community volunteers make a difference. At their annual Breakfast with Santa event, volunteers help create magical memories for families through interactive activities. During the annual Back to School event, volunteers assist in distributing school supplies, backpacks, and other essentials in order to ensure children are prepared for the year ahead.
CHIP also provides families with developmental education, kindergarten readiness support, oral health resources, and regular child assessments through personalized care. Their comprehensive approach helps build parenting skills while empowering families to reach their goals toward self-sufficiency. They also offer targeted services such as Prenatal Case Management, NICU support, Asthma Case Management, and Mental Health Counseling, ensuring that each child and family receives the specialized care they need.
