Days of Service Mini Grant Program
Across the Commonwealth, nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, and others plan National Day of Service projects in their communities, honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January and 9/11 Remembrance Day in September. Serve Virginia and the Virginia Service Foundation support these efforts through mini grant funding opportunities as well as promotional assistance to engage community members in volunteerism.
Applications open for mini grant funding each Summer for the 9/11 Day of Service and each Fall for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
The next funding cycle will be for 2025 9/11 Day of Service projects and will open in Summer 2025.
Eligibility
Applicants must represent public or private nonprofit organizations that serve the Commonwealth of Virginia, including faith-based and other community organizations, public or private schools, institutions of higher education, and government entities. Funding will be provided on a reimbursement basis to selected organizations and proof of project completion and volunteer engagement is required.
