Child Health Investment Partnership (CHIP) of Roanoke Valley is a trusted early childhood home visiting program in Southwest Virginia. Since 1988, CHIP has empowered over 28,000 children and their families, providing the support needed for a healthy, successful start. They partner with pregnant moms, children from birth to first grade, and their caregivers, pairing them with Community Health Nurses and Family Case Managers who offer guidance on accessing medical services, managing chronic conditions, and promoting healthy development. Story of Service: Middlesex County Museum and Historical Society

The Middlesex County Museum and Historical Society is one of the oldest county museums in the state of Virginia, covering more than 400 years of local history. The museum's exhibits feature an array of objects and items not seen together before: fossils and Indian artifacts, 19th Century textiles and clothing, a 1930s country store, agricultural and industrial tools, historical money, toys, and medical instruments. The exhibits contain stories of the past, including local African American history, Civil War, Revolutionary War, WWI, and WWII eras. 2024 Governor's Volunteerism & Community Service Award honoree the ODU Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is an entrepreneurial accelerator dedicated to providing economic development to veterans and underserved or disadvantaged individuals. Through its collective programs in the past year, the Institute provided 4,055 thirty-minute counseling sessions, created 498 new entrepreneurs, established 54 startup businesses, enabled 76 contracts totaling $13 million, and created 498 new jobs.  Despite a significant military footprint, Hampton Roads experiences significant challenges in social mobility and financial wellbeing.
