Did you know that AmeriCorps invested more than $14.2 million of federal funding in Virginia last year to develop cost-effective community solutions and support the work of more than 3,000 AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors serving at 363 AmeriCorps sites, including schools, food banks, shelters, health clinics, youth centers, veterans facilities, and other nonprofit and faith-based organizations? In addition to meeting community needs, service-to-career pathways within AmeriCorps programs create diverse talent pipelines, increase the capacity of nonprofit and public agencies, address pressing community and state challenges, and have positive impacts on the AmeriCorps members themselves.
Join us as we celebrate 30 years of AmeriCorps impact during AmeriCorps Week 2024! Between March 10-16, Serve Virginia will share inspiring stories from AmeriCorps members and service sites across the Commonwealth as we honor and thank the more than 22,000 Virginians who have served in AmeriCorps since 1994, contributing their time and talents to strengthen our communities, address our communities' most pressing issues, and transform the lives of those served and those who serve.
